On one of our bike tours through the beautiful Upper Palatinate countryside, every now and then you find this sign in the middle of nowhere, indicating that you can call a bus by phone. Since you can call a bus like a cab (taxi), it’s simply called BAXI. This is how country bumpkins like us try to solve public transportation problems, when it’s not worth setting up regular bus routes.
